AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D
The problem with Ryzen 9 9900X3D is the price, as the 9900X3D costs $220 more than a 9900X while the 9950X3D costs $150 more than a 9950X. The explanation, we feel, is that the excellent Ryzen 7 9800X3D carries a similarly huge premium over the 9700X and we guess that AMD felt the need to jack up the price of the 9900X3D to keep the product stack looking neat.

The $600 Ryzen 9 9900X3D is the fastest 12-core gaming chip on the market, but its high price point exposes it to competition from both higher- and lower-cost chips, making it hard to recommend unless it sees a significant price cut.
