The RTX 2060 Super is still a good card. It's faster than a GTX 1080 at a lower price, with new features that may benefit future games. We wouldn't recommend upgrading from a GTX 1080 to an RTX 2060 Super, but if you're running an older GPU and are looking to spend $300 or more on a high-end graphics card, it's a worthy pick. And it makes the prospect of buying AMD's RX 5700 series more difficult.

This GPU's sole purpose in life is to destroy the upcoming RX 5700 from AMD, but sadly those numbers can't be published yet. Without that context, it's hard to say definitively how good of a value this GPU is, but we can still see it's a very solid improvement over what was already a great mid-high-end GPU. It's just as fast as the RTX 2070, while costing $100 less, so there's not much to complain about in that equation.

In the end, NVIDIA’s has made an aggressive, strategic move with these new GeForce RTX Super GPUs. They up the ante in terms of performance per dollar and put some significant pressure on the competition a few days out from the debut of a new architecture.

The RTX 2060 SUPER offers 8GB of GDDR6 as well, up from the 6GB with the original version and with it a move to a 256-bit memory interface from 192-bit. The 6GB limit with the RTX 2060 can be tested at higher resolutions and quality settings, and 8GB also puts the 2060 SUPER in a better position to compete with AMD’s RX 5700 Series.

NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER offers some truly kick ass performance for $399, with its upgraded 8GB of GDDR6 on a faster 256-bit memory bus making it considerably faster than the RTX 2060 in the right situations and high-res 1440p/4K gaming.
