For those thinking about upgrading the from the previous generation, the RTX 3070 is about 30% faster than the RTX 2070 Super and about 40% faster than the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT. At the end of the day I think that the RTX 3070 is the card of this generation to get. The performance is absolutely amazing and the price of $499 can’t be beat!

If you’re upgrading from a GTX 1070 or even a GTX 1080, particularly if you’re moving from 1080p to 1440p, the RTX 3070 feels ideal to me. I think this card, and whatever other lower-priced GPUs Nvidia has planned, will help usher in a move toward 1440p for a lot of people wanting to upgrade their PCs.

The RTX 3070 Founders Edition is a great card. It offers excellent 4K and 1440p performance at a very reasonable price. Its peak temperature and overall noise leave something to be desired, and the generational leap isn’t quite as grand as with the RTX 3080, but at $499, it’s hard to argue that the RTX 3070 is anything other than a great value.

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3070 Founders Edition retails at $499, which is a highly competitive price. Remember, RTX 3070 matches RTX 2080 Ti, which retailed for $1200+ just a few months ago. As of today, around this price point there's not a lot of alternatives—GeForce RTX 3070 owns the performance segment. Nobody's going to buy any Turing cards now, unless they come with a huge discount.
