The Radeon 6700 XT is a pretty lukewarm product. It’s a very small improvement from its predecessor in terms of value. You do get a bit more VRAM, and efficiency has been greatly improved, but overall a 30% performance increase at a 20% price premium is hardly cause for celebration.

DLSS quality and game support has only improved and the same is also true for ray tracing. If you miraculously see this card for its list price, buy it, because you won’t get anything better for anywhere near that price in the near future. But it feels inferior to every Nvidia GPU that can compare — and I wouldn’t trade my 3060 Ti for one.

Reviewing a video card these days is a bit like reading tea leaves. It's unclear if the products we're testing will actually be available for consumers to buy, and the real-world pricing is anyone's guess. At the very least, the 6700 XT fills a significant mid-range hole for AMD, and it's a decent performer if you don't really care about ray tracing. But given the state of the market today, I have a hard time recommending any GPU purchase until prices stabilize significantly.

A dab hand at 1080p and 1440p, the Radeon RX 6700 XT is a performant graphics card for 2021 and beyond. However, it simply isn't priced aggressively enough to snatch the sub-$500 market from Nvidia.
