AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT
The Radeon RX 6650 XT is a non-event. It is a little faster, which is nice, but it also costs a little more, so ultimately who cares? It barely strengthens AMD's position. In terms of cost per frame, it's a few percent better than what we already had, but realistically what the 6650 XT offers was only a mild overclock away with the 6600 XT.

AMD's RX 6X50 refresh isn't wildly exciting, we just hope the pricing will end up making sense. Credit to Sapphire however for making three terrific aftermarket cards.

The card overall performs as quickly as or slightly quicker than an RTX 3060 or even faster than the Ti. However the card series is priced similarly to the $399 3060 Ti. For games that support DLSS, the Geforce 3060 Ti is always the obvious winner. In conclusion, the Radeon RX 6650 XT series is a fun gaming card series focused completely on rasterized shading; the 32MB L3 cache excels at Full HD and often even WQHD resolutions. You may experiment with raytracing to glimpse the quality of future video games. However, the high asking price remains a big red flag, particularly when product positioning and relative performance are considered.

If you need a card as soon as possible, then choose a better priced card with similar performance. If you aren’t in desperate need for a new GPU and just want an upgrade, then I would actually recommend waiting; prices are falling and signs are pointing to the possibility of a new generation of GPU coming soon(ish), and with competition between team red and green on the rise and with team blue almost ready to step into the ring on the desktop GPU side of things, we can probably expect next gen to be quite exciting for pc enthusiasts.

There are also plenty of Radeon RX 6600 XT cards out there that have decent coolers, and if you are willing to spend a little bit more, the RX 6700 XT or even a used RTX 2070 could suddenly be an option. If the Radeon RX 6650 XT ends up reaching its actual $400 MSRP, the card could disrupt NVIDIA's sales in that segment or force them to bring down their prices.
