We think the point is to get at least two, if not three, for playing games at extreme resolutions well beyond 2560x1600. When you get right down to it, this is a card for the same folks who buy Intel's Extreme Edition chips, except they're actually getting something special here.

NVIDIA are back on the top spot with the most POWERFUL single GPU card on the market and given that AMD are not releasing any more cards for the rest of this year to take it on, NVIDIA’s GTX Titan is one super graphics card for supercomputer gaming.

So, the big question is, should you scamper out and buy a Titan? There’s no straightforward answer here, though. The GTX Titan's price/performance ratio isn't as good as that of the GTX 680; it offers 35 per cent to 50 per cent improved performance but...

The GTX Titan is a card you'll no doubt want but are unlikely to be able to afford. But as a high-res gaming experience it's immense, and as a 'budget' pro-compute card it's unsurpassed.
